Mol - 4Nature
By 4Nature

This 2.7-hectare restoration project enriches pine woodland and open fields with diverse native trees and improved forest management. By boosting biodiversity, strengthening wildlife corridors, and increasing natural carbon capture, it helps reverse ecological decline in rural Belgium.

Project status
Just northwest of Mol in Belgium, 4Nature is restoring a 2.7-hectare site to bring more life, diversity, and resilience back to the landscape. The area, a mix of pine forest and other species, sits within a patchwork of farmland and semi-wooded terrain, making it a key location for improving habitat quality and natural carbon storage.
Key benefits of this restoration project include:
- Enriching forest structure by introducing native tree and plant species
- Removing invasive plants to give native biodiversity room to recover
- Boosting carbon capture through healthier, more diverse vegetation
- Providing better habitat for local birds and pollinators
- Reconnecting fragmented green spaces in a heavily farmed region
- Improving soil condition and supporting long-term forest health
- Supporting local and regional conservation goals
This small site plays a meaningful role in strengthening the surrounding landscape and helping nature take root again, one patch at a time.
